The purposes of this study were to investigate the reading comprehension ability in Dzongkha of the tenth grade students through Reciprocal Teaching (RT) method and to examine the opinion of the students towards the RT method. This study used 2 groups, pretest-posttest experimental design. The subjects were randomly assigned to the control and experimental groups based on their pre-test ranked scores. There were 32 students in each group. The instruments used in this study were six lesson plans with RT format, learning achievement test questions and opinion questionnaire. Validity and reliability of the research instruments were established prior to the implementation. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze data and independent-samples t-test was used to test the difference. Before the experimentation, independent t-test was applied to confirm the equal ability of the two groups. The results showed no difference of the means at 0.05 levels. The study was carried out for 6 consecutive weeks. Findings showed that the mean gain of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. And the mean difference of the two groups by independent t-test showed that it was significant at 0.05 level. And analysis of opinions of the experimental group showed positive towards RT method. Therefore, it was concluded that that the use of RT method was effective in teaching Dzongkha.en_US
