dc.description.other-abstractThis study investigates the development of Chinese speaking skills of secondary 1 students in an international school in Thailand using the cooperative learning method. The study was conducted at an international school in Thailand during the first term of 2023-2024 academic year. The study employed cluster random sampling to select four classes, each consisting of 15 students at the secondary 1 level, as the sample group with mixed genders and mixed abilities in learning. In the study, the researcher also used a questionnaire to collect the data on student's speaking test and satisfaction. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed the highest mean score of pre-test (x̅=19) and post-test (x̅=31.23), the pre-test and post-test data indicated the development of student's Chinese speaking skills, and the quantitative data showed the highest mean score (x̅=3.77) and lowest mean score (x̅=3.68) of students' satisfaction. The total students' satisfaction level items were at a high level. The content analysis on quantitative data revealed the students' satisfaction towards the use of cooperative learning method in Chinese speaking classen_US
