dc.description.other-abstractThis qualitative study investigates the culture of learning of Korean staff in a Chinese workplace. The study objectives are to identify teaching strategies and to explore how the Korean staff improve their culture of learning in the context of second language acquisition and intercultural communication. Data were collected from teacher's journals, classroom recordings, and semi-structured interviews with six Korean participants. The analysis follows grounded theory consisting of open, axial and selective codings. The findings reveal three teaching strategies: contextual approach, cultural teaching, and Internet buzzwords teaching methods. The contextual approach emphasizes integrating language learning with real-life cultural experiences enhancing practical communication. Cultural teaching emphasizes understanding and embracing Chinese culture to facilitate smoother for the Korean staff’s communication in a Chinese workplace. Internet buzzwords teaching strategy incorporates contemporary language and cultural trends making communication more relevant and engaging. To improve Korean staff’s culture of learning, they employed three key methods: learning through media platforms, gaining cultural experiences and integrating Chinese language learning with hobbies. These approaches help them bridge cultural gaps and enhance intercultural communication. This study highlights the importance of cultural learning and its role in language learning providing practical insights for language educators and learners to enhance cultural learning in diverse work environments, thereby improving intercultural communicative competence.en_US
