| dc.description.other-abstract | This study explored the construct validity of the six-factors of Teachers’ Professional Identity of teachers in vocational colleges in Fujian. A mixed-method approach was employed. First, a survey research design with the distributing of questionnaires to 500 samples was used with the descriptive analysis of mean, standard deviation, frequency, and percentage, followed by the inferential analysis of Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Next, a semi-structure interviews with 10 of the vocational colleges’ administrators were done to gain the perspectives in enhancing teachers’ Professional Identity in Vocational Education in Fujian Provinces. The results indicated that Teachers’ Self-Perception and Teaching Competence were the most significant factors on Professional Identity, while the Job Satisfaction was highly related to salary, promotion opportunities. It is also suggested that the policymakers and educators should pay attention to Teachers’ Sense of Belonging as another factor crucial for teachers as seen by administrators, thus, it is recommended that the six-factors scale of Professional Identity, developed in this study, could be used to examine Teachers’ Sense of Belonging, in longitudinal research, in order to understand its evolvement in higher vocational education, both in Fujian and other Provinces | en_US |
