| metadata.dc.description.other-abstract: | Injuries among early childhood children are a significant issue that not only affect children’s health but also have broader impacts on families and society. This descriptive research aimed to assess the injury prevention behaviors of caregivers of early childhood children in the community and to analyze the factors associated with these behaviors. The participants were 138 primary caregivers of early childhood children enrolled in early childhood development centers in the Khlong Sam Wa district of Bangkok, selected through multistage random sampling. The research instruments consisted of a knowledge test on injury prevention, an attitude assessment questionnaire, a community support, and a caregiver behavior assessment regarding injury prevention in early childhood children. The reliability coefficients of the attitude, community support, and behavior questionnaires were 0.87, 0.87, and 0.94, respectively. The knowledge test yielded a KR-21 reliability coefficient of 0.76. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. The findings revealed that caregivers exhibited a high level of injury prevention behavior. Community support was found to be moderately and positively correlated with caregiver behavior in injury prevention at a statistically significant level (ρ=.349, p < .001). It is recommended that community organizations, such as early childhood centers, village health volunteers, and community leaders, be promoted to play an active role in organizing educational activities, public awareness campaigns, and establishing local safety networks |
