Abstract: This research presents unique Environmental conservation practice of Bhutan by exploring its core environmental ethics, policies and implementations. The study shows that Bhutan’s core environmental ethics are fundamentally assembled upon Buddhist principles, societal taboos and to a certain extend, the culture of animism. Gradually with global awareness on environmental crisis, the environmental commitment of Bhutan has been further strengthened through National Policies, Mandates and Declarations. Gross National Happiness (GNH) is found to be the guiding strategy enabling the country to balance between environmental and developmental concerns. The study suggests middle path strategy as the best possible model during such rising era of environmental crisis
