metadata.dc.description.other-abstract: The rising concern over Nigeria's negative image in the international arena has been blamed on the crimes of few Nigerians searching for greener pastures across Nigeria's national frontiers. This research study explores how can rebrand Nigeria's international image by exploring the relationship and possible links between good governance, public diplomacy, and foreign direct investment (FDI) in improving nation’s brand. The study relied on semi-structured interviews and open-ended questions to lend a voice to why rebranding Nigeria’s global image is necessary to promote good governance, attract FDI, and enhance public diplomacy, (2) explores best image rebranding practices, (3) investigates any possible links between good governance, public diplomacy, and FDI in nation's image branding, (4) and examine how to measure such success in rebranding a nation's image. The findings suggest a strong correlation between good governance, effective public Diplomacy, Nigeria's image, and Nigeria's ability to attract FDI into Nigeria. The study also discovered that lack of good governance, transparency, uneven distribution of wealth; corruption, failed leadership, and insecurity remain critical problems associated with Nigeria's negative image. The study, therefore, recommends the strengthening of good governance and public diplomacy as a means of improving Nigeria's international reputation and, thus, helping to attract FDI to the country so that it may develop economically and democratically"
