metadata.dc.description.other-abstract: This research objectives were 1) to develop status of PromptPay and how to promote Thailand’s cashless society, 2) to develop third-party mobile payment gateway, 3) to study Alipay status before the Covid-19, and 4) to study the successful experience of a cashless society in China. This research is qualitative research collecting data from 3 key performance informants. The finding revealed as follows: 1) the Bank of Thailand assists the development of Promptpay, not only to cultivate people's payment habits, but also to avoid transaction monopoly caused by overseas payment institutions in Thailand; 2) according to various mobile payment gateways and PromptPay, there are competition and cooperation between mobile banking. The competition allows each other to expand their business advantages, and the cooperation allows each other to work together to promote the development of a cashless society in Thailand; 3) before the epidemic, tens of thousands of Chinese used Alipay for settlement in Thailand, effectively promoting cashless with the advancement of society; moreover, advanced mobile payment technology has been integrated into Thailand's mobile payment field; 4) in addition to the epidemic, Alipay has also been affected by Thailand's financial policy, and Alipay's transaction volume in Thailand has dropped significantly; the government has optimized the entry policy and opened up the country, and Chinese people will continue to return. In Thailand, Alipay will become more mature in the future and contribute to the Thai economy
