A study on the impact of information sharing and the degree of goal consistency in the SAP system on supplier trust : a case study of Cofco Group's Thailand branch

Abstract

Globally, with the in-depth development of international trade and increasingly fierce international competition, corporate procurement is facing many difficulties. Many companies respond to challenges by establishing SAP systems (ERP) to improve efficiency. At present, there is still a large gap in the research on how the procurement process based on SAP in the food industry affects supplier trust. COFCO Thailand Branch is taken as a case study; questionnaires, interviews and related documents are used to investigate and analyze the procurement business process, and to explore the role and significance of the procurement business process based on the SAP system on supplier trust. The results revealed that the application of SAP systems can help promote information sharing and collaboration compatibility in the supply chain, improve logistics efficiency, and reduce supply chain risks. The study also revealed some problems faced by COFCO Thailand Branch in the SAP procurement process, such as cumbersome approval processes and long procurement cycles. Based on these issues, the research proposed optimization suggestions, including simplifying unnecessary process links, integrating processes, and promoting process automation. These suggestions are aimed at further optimizing the company's procurement process to adapt to the fierce international competitive environment.
