metadata.dc.description.other-abstract: The aims of this study were to compare grade 5 students’ Chinese speaking skill before and after using Game Teaching Method and investigated their satisfaction towards the use of the Game Teaching Method in Chinese speaking course in Chachoengsao Province, Thailand. The participants consisted of 41 Thai students studying in grade 5 in Chachoengsao Province. The data were collected through the use of four lesson plans, pretest, post-test, and questionnaire, and analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and the sample mean difference. The data collection lasted for four weeks and the teaching experiment was conducted at a school in Chachoengsao Province. The results of the pre-test and post-test showed that the participants improved their Chinese speaking skill, with a mean difference of 3.53 points between the post-test score (x̅ =16.02, SD=2.49) and the pre-test score (x̅ =12.49, SD=2.57). The data collected from the questionnaire indicated that all items in the questionnaire were rated highly. The majority of the participants expressed satisfaction with the application of Game Teaching Method in Chinese speaking learning. This study demonstrated that the use of Game Teaching Method provided an alternative and effective way of learning Chinese speaking in China.
