| metadata.dc.description.other-abstract: | Development of Hydrogel for Dental Applications Oral gels often suffer from poor adhesion to tissues, reducing their effectiveness. This study aims to develop hydrogels with better adhesion for oral use by examining the effects of different polymers: gellan gum, hyaluronic acid, and poloxamer 407. Poloxamer 407 affects thermoresponsive gelation, while gellan gum promotes gel formation in the presence of electrolytes. Hyaluronic acid enhances water retention and tissue adhesion. Gelation occurs at 33°C within 5–30 seconds, and in electrolyte conditions, within 1–5 seconds. The developed hydrogel adheres for over 30 minutes and degrades within 1–8 hours. Increasing polymer ratios extends gel degradation time. These findings highlight the potential of this hydrogel for oral use, with future applications possible by adding active agents like anesthetics or anti-inflammatory drugs |
