The study employed quasi-experimental research method. The sample is 32 students from Class 7, Grade 10, Shanghai No. 1 High School, China. Pretest, post-test, and questionnaire were used as research instruments. Data obtained from tests and questionnaire were analyzed by using SPSS for descriptive statistics and the data from pre-test and post-test were analyzed. The results showed that the significance value (P value) of test is less than 0.05. The research findings revealed that the project-based learning method could improve the English-speaking abilities of Chinese Grade 10 students. The result of questionnaire showed the significance of the P value was 0.000, less than 0.05 proving that Chinese students in Grade 10 were satisfied with the project-based learning method. To improve the English-speaking abilities of Chinese students, the PBL method can be promoted in various regions of China, not limited to the teaching of English-speaking abilities as well as in all subject areas.
